Today we had an estimated 100 year old tree removed from our front yard. We hated to see it go, as it was older than our house and was home to red headed woodpecker and a raccoon, but it was hollow and seemed to be threatening our house with every big storm. (In addition to that, it was a sweet gum tree and it's foliage, gum balls, seeds, pollen and birds who perched in it wreaked havoc on our porch and cars with each change in season.) Needless to say, the process of removing this huge tree created a spectacle for our neighbors and great entertainment for Adair.
